• Competence: Coaches and Mentors will maintain highest standards of competence in their work.

• Multi-disciplined : Coaches and Mentors must have a high level of all the relevant knowledge in the field in which they are coaching

• Honesty and Integrity: Coaches and Mentors will present themselves in an honest and fair manner, being cognizant and conscious of their specific areas of competency and limitations.

• Continual Improvement: Coaches and Mentors must strive to be aware of their own belief systems, values, needs, and limitations and the effect these will have on their work. They must strive to excel standards they set themselves.

• Contract with the person coached / mentored : To the extent feasible, Coaches and Mentors  must clarify their roles with the persons/organizations and must function appropriately in accordance with the roles, which are mutually understood.

• Professional Responsibility and Accountability: Coaches and Mentors must uphold highest standards of ethical conduct that reflect beneficially on the concerned individual coach as well as the Coaching profession at large.

• Respect for People's Rights and Dignity: Coaches and Mentors will treat clients with dignity and respect being aware of the probable cultural differences, and honour the client's right to autonomy, privacy, and confidentiality.

• Coaches and Mentors must appropriately respect the fundamental rights, dignity, and worth of all those who come in contact with him. They must respect the rights of individuals to privacy, confidentiality, self-determination, and autonomy. They must bear in mind that legal and other obligations may lead to subsequent disruption in consistency and give rise to conflict with the exercise of these rights.

• Coaches and Mentors must be aware of the likely cultural, psychological and role differences, including those due to age, gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, language, and socioeconomic status.

• Coaches and Mentors must, in all earnestness, try to eliminate the effect of any biases based on those factors on their work, , and they will not knowingly participate in or condone unfair discriminatory practices.

All decisions in this regard are deemed final by the Control Board of IPCA and Coaches and Mentors must respect this..
